First is the enchanted Maasin River. It is a natural fascinating sea water pool and best during low tide. Scooter rentals should cost around 3PHP ($USD) per day.
If you rent a scooter for a few days you can get long term rates which are slightly cheaper. For this tour, we offer options. Exposed during low tides, this well-known rock pool is the best place to unwind after days of surfing. Along the way we stop at the Maasin Bridge for a swim at the famous palm tree over the river. MAGPUPUNGKO ROCK POOLS AND BEACH , SIARGAO SURIGAO DEL NORTE. While getting there from General Luna could be a bit too long (more than an hour,) one shouldn’t be discouraged by the long ride because it is well worth it. It’s one of our favourite spots on the island for a swim. With that being sai it’s also a favourite for a lot of other people too. You’ll often find a ton of tourists and locals here on a sunny day.
Here are tips on how to avoid the crowds that pour in during low tide. Not so much hidden from tourists, but actually physically hidden by the ocean for most of the day. When the low tide comes aroun the ocean pulls out and reveals a series of stunning rock pools. Spend the day cliff jumping, swimming, and relaxing next to these tide pools.
A 40- minutes drive North of General Luna. An amazingly surreal attraction in Siargao. After spending the whole morning at Sugba Lagoon (and a quick lunch), my friends and I went straight to this spot. Hali, meanwhile, was excited to surf in the world-famous Cloud in General Luna.
So you can imagine how looking forward we were to these visits. Another main attraction in Siargao is the Sugba Lagoon. Considered as the second largest mangrove forest in Philippines and home of various marine and bird species. This is a valid option for those of you who only have a couple of days to spend in Siargao , but it is not the most recommended choice since this tour is very rushed and you won’t really have much time to enjoy each spot you visit. In Siargao you can expect to pay anywhere from $6-USD depending on how long you are booking for. As well as picture perfect coconut palm trees, waterfalls and natural rock pool. Check the tide times ahead and consider your travel time when creating your itinerary.
On your tri-island hopping, bring some food items and ask any local in the island to cook for you for a certain fee to save up.
